Can You Still Outsmart the PTE Software After the Latest Changes

PTE Course

PTE Academic has undergone new changes, and many students often ask: Can I still trick the software? If yes, which modules can still be managed with tricks, and which ones are dangerous to attempt? Let’s break it down in detail.

If you’re preparing through a PTE Course, these insights will help you decide where to focus on genuine practice versus shortcuts.

🔹 Read Aloud

·        Contributes only 5–6 marks.

·        You cannot truly trick it, but fumbles or misinterpretations are not highly penalized.

·        Just continue speaking until the audio ends and move on.
One area where you can still manage without much stress in your PTE Online Course practice.

🔹 Repeat Sentence

·        Yes, you can still trick this task to some extent.

·        Even 50–60% content accuracy can fetch full marks in content if fluency and pronunciation are strong.

·        The trick: listen only to your capacity (e.g., 8 words) and repeat them confidently.
A highly effective tip to apply during your PTE Course Online preparation.

🔹 Describe Image

·        Do not try to trick here.

·        Content is the top priority now; generic templates don’t work anymore.

·        You must provide at least three meaningful sentences from the image.

·        Misinterpreting minor details is fine, but skipping content is dangerous, especially when attempting an Online PTE Course mock practice.

🔹 Retell Lecture & Respond to Situation

·        Tricks fail here.

·        Content is crucial. Deliver 4 full sentences or at least 5–6 meaningful phrases.

·        Generic templates or memorized lines will not fetch marks.

·        Always address the exact question parts.

🔹 Summarize Written Text

·        You can still trick this task to some extent.

·        The copy-paste method with full sentences works well, as long as the summary stays under 75 words.

·        Use templates like: “While S1, S2; S3.”

·        For conversational passages, paraphrasing is necessary.

🔹 Essay Writing

·        Do not trick here.

·        Generic templates or keyword-only methods result in very low writing scores.

·        Use topic-specific structures and linking words for good results.

🔹 Reading

·        No major tricks possible.

·        You can skip “choose single” and “choose multiple” questions without losing much.

·        Focus more on Fill in the Blanks and Reading & Writing FIB, as they carry the most marks.

🔹 Summarize Spoken Text

·        No tricks work here.

·        Write 4 sentences or 5–6 phrases (50–70 words).

·        Avoid paraphrasing errors. Ensure grammar and spelling accuracy.

🔹 Listening

·        Fill in the Blanks – No tricks.

·        Highlight Incorrect Words – No tricks; avoid negative marking by skipping doubtful words.

·        Write from Dictation Yes, to some extent. You can add 5–7 extra words or rearrange slightly, but they must match the audio.

💡 Final Pro Tip

After finishing speaking in any module, click “Next” immediately. This avoids background noise from being recorded during silence.

Verdict

Some modules like Repeat Sentence, Summarize Written Text, and Write from Dictation still allow safe tricks.
But modules such as Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Essay Writing, and Summarize Spoken Text are dangerous to trick—you will lose marks.
